| + | I thought it was really interesting the way upper class hispanic women were called "spanish" while the lower class women were "mexican." These distinctions seemed to make some women better then others and made them more acceptable to western society. -- Christine W. | ||

It is sad to think that whites could have been so mean to the Cherokee women that they would be willing to send their daughters to school far away to learn a new culture in the hopes of a better life.
