Steinberg really brought a new perspective into my eyes. I never would have related the work place and the environment in the way that he did, yet the environment was indeed very influential on the work place. I never thought of exactly how important water was as a power source during this time, but then seeing that companies were trying to get water from New Hampshire into Massachusetts changed that view. This whole idea of environment effecting the work place shows how important natural resources are in the manufacturing/production/business in general. In regards to this struggle versus nature, technology is going to continuously try to outdo nature. It will try to ease the difficult processes that nature creates. -Claire Brooks | Steinberg really brought a new perspective into my eyes. | + | I found it quite interesting that dam-breaking was actually legal. Sure, the dam was causing damage to people's land (which is a problem the companies should have thought of before building the dams) but in the article Steinberg says that "Worster sought to abate the nuisance himself." To abate the nuisance involved damaging property. -Megan Mc | ||
