| + | Blight talks a great deal about the Klan in this chapter. Whenever I read about the Klan there seems to be many versions of its role in Reconstruction. I have heard that the Klan was more dangerous than people think, in that it tried in a few states to topple their Republican governments through military force. Why did Blight leave this out in explaining the Klan role in this time period? Is it just a myth? Why is the Klan’s story so hard to define? Is it because it was a secret organization? Logan T | ||
