| + | Like Shauser stated, it's interesting to note the time lapse between the publishing of the book and the production of the film. By this point, 16 years had passed and new insights into Vietnam could be sought out. I think the gap of time was a good thing for the film to portray Vietnam accurately. If it had been produced immediately after the war (...or conflict), I think many of the mixed feelings the people of the U.S. were feeling may have painted the film in a different light. - Victoria Y. | ||
