One of the things that struck me about the movie was the influence of Religion. It was also brought up in the readings, with the letters from the miners that were stranded in a collapsed mine. All of the letters told their families to be good and to trust that they will meet again in heaven. Like Jenn stated, many of the letters both openly talk about religion as well as just reference to it in subtle ways. In the film, the enthusiasm the community has at the church (even if it's not that believeable) expressed the importance of it in their lives. - Victoria Y. | ||
