I really did not like how she said her no one would censure her because the story was she is a moral woman and her story promoted good morals. Why does she feel the need to tell us that. | + | Is it bad that I loved this?? Is there a sequel! Who was the consumer for this book? Mothers who read it aloud to their daughters as a warning? I was surprised of the nature of this story when I read the short bio about the author Susanna Rowson I was expecting something a little more controversial. I mean I suppose this was controversial but Charlotte was such a weak female character that it almost seemed to cancel anything else out. The fact that Rowson was a female novelist seemed to be pretty substantial and impressive considering the time period but maybe the reason why she was so popular is because she wasn't encouraging any other bad behaviors amongst women. -Emma Peck | ||
