| + | I was not totally convinced on why the Cherokee could be one of the most matrifocal tribes in the 18th century but be the most enthusiastic to change to Anglo-American ways in the 19th century. She writes it off that the Cherokee changed because they had to survive as a tribe but Pedue really did not go into depth on how this change occurred. I doubt the Cherokee woke up one day, flipped a switch, and decided they would be more Anglo American starting then.--Joyce | ||
