| + | '''Criminal''': In reading this article, I could not get past the treatment of women in cases of rape and kidnapping. The concept that a rape could be justified by women acting in what was construed to be a suggestive manner is very foreign to our modern concepts of sexual harassment and abuse. To me this really illustrated the lengths to which men would go to illustrate their authority and power over women and how they used womens supposed evil, seductive nature for their benefit and to justify their wrongs. I agree with Stephen that this illustrates both the gender gap itself but also its inherent flaw. Taking the separation of genders so far as to justify such acts against women is truly terribly and criminal. --Sarah Gardner | ||
