Peggy is the good girl who is patriotic and works as a nurse, helping others, while Marie is a vain and flirtatious woman who works at a nightclub for a time and resents Fred for making her quit her job. All Marie wants to do is to go out while Peggy is more than happy staying at home shucking peas and cooking dinner for Fred and her family. Not ''all'' women were either extreme! It's the virgin/whore scenario. Oh, and the guy will always end up with the virgin (ie Fred and Peggy "the homewrecker"). This is only typecasting women in one of two parties while the male characters were much more complex.-Lauren |
