I am not sure if a woman helped write this article, but I find it interesting that there existed a significant proportion of women activists who did not believe women should work outside of the home and the ideals of the Cult of Domesticity. It almost seems as if it is one of those cases where society's ideals have permanently lowered an individual's self-esteem. I am very tempted to conclude that it is a very similar lowering of self-esteem as that described in Brown v. On page 415 the authors say that by the wife working she is making her husband her covert rival and this will impose feelings of insufficiency and weakness and eventually lead to his sexual dissatisfaction HIS sexual dissatisfaction..... This writing reminded me a little of Betty Friedan. On Page 414, "Many women can find no solution to their dilemma and are defeated in attempts at adaptation. These constitute the array of the sick, unhappy, neurotic, wholly or partly incapable of dealing with life".
