| + | While reading this thing I'm thinking "this girl has been fixated by something that she doesn't even really know about ( the Confirmation) but wants it because it's a lot more appealing or 'American'". When I was younger I was guilty of wanting to do more "American" things to fit in better with the kids at school, denied that I knew how to speak Spanish along with other silly things, so I can see where she is coming from but it still annoyed me. A bigger issue with her, however, I think is that she has that added burden that her people are being ostrasized by the country they live in and part of her, as an American, doesn't want to be part of it. - Emely. | ||
