It is so sad that so many young women had to stand on the street corners just to try to get work.  I was surprised that domestic workers made up most of the country's job force, especially when it was a last resort job for women.  Reading the piece about the domestic "slave markets" really showed how hard it was for women, especially African-American women, to get jobs. --Kellye Sorber
