The "Women of the Ku Klux Klan" document was really interesting. I was very surprised with the detailed constitution of the organization. Even though this was one way for women to become involved in politics it impressed me to the extent that the constitution went. It included the organization's objectives & purposes, membership and offenses & penalties. The type of offenses listed really surprised me, it never would have occurred to me to list "disrespect of virtuous womanhood." | + | I did find it interesting that women were involved in the Klu Klux Klan. Women were not as strict as men were with racism. Based on the situations women can be what they want to be. By working hard you can achieve what you want based on beliefs. If you can succeed then you’ll be successful. –Ashley Scutari | ||
I knew that there was a Women of the KKK, but I did not have any type of understanding of how many members and their Kreed. I found just the in depth of the Kreed amazing. It covered membership, objections, offenses and punishments. I found it interesting that there was a donation of $10 required... unless your husband was in the original KKK.
