| + | I thought "Suffrage Militant Alice Paul Goes to Jail" was particularily interesting by showing the reaction to radical female behavior. By being merely showing an active, aggressive tactic Alice Paul was labeled as manic and psychopathic by the standards of the day. This extreme blindness in the doctors ability to understand Paul's actions reminded me of the categorization of homosexuality as a psychological disorder until the early 1970s. The thought of women's rights was so foreign to some men such as Doctor White makes the progress women did make in this era seem exponential. -- Meredith Bojarski | ||
