One of the cases in the "Suffolk County Court Records" mentioned that "Ursula, the wife of Henry Edwards, presented for striking her husband and abusive carriage and language..." I was wondering if only women were brought up on charges for striking a spouse or if men were also brought up on such charges? Considering the position in society and community that women were expected to keep it would not surprise me if only women were brought up on charges of abuse. -- Katie Mauro
