At this time we start to see magazines such as Sarah Hales "Ladies Magazine," and Catharine Beecher's writings on "System and Order". I also wonder if magazines and publications aimed towards women weren't as likely to be preserved? A lady's magazine might have been more likely to be thrown away or cut up for sewing patterns or whatever than publications aimed at men. -- Katie C.
