I really enjoyed reading this article. I find it rather ironic that today’s woman still struggles with the choice between staying home and raising her children and going out into the workplace. Being an older student, I notice a number of my friends who have college degrees, including post-graduate degrees and have made the decision to forego a career or postpone their career to stay home with their children. I think that it is difficult to say what decision you will make regarding your kids until you are in the position of having to make the decision of leaving your child with someone else or working. | + | Boggs obviously believed that a woman should be able to do anything a man could do, such as go to school and work in certain jobs. However for raising a kid she thinks that "a mother should be there the first couple of years of a child's life," (30) Does this mean that she did not think it was a man's place to raise a kid? Obviously she felt that a man should help, as Josh helped plenty with Tad but their was never any mention of him giving up his education or his job. - J Rowley | ||
