| + | I think Marshak's description of their isolation was very interesting. According to her, the fence surrounding Los Alamos was became an very symbolic structure and "a tangible barrier" which separated the peoples ' lives from the rest of the world. It also sounds like women's lives in this secrecy must of both been extremely difficult , but the fact they just trusted their husbands is a very admirable thing. On a different tangent, I am glad they did have some fun while they were there, "skiing and horseback riding, mountain climbing and folk dancing, and gay parties which lasted till dawn" (204). --David Fitch | ||
