| + | Like most of us, I also really enjoyed Alcott's journal. It was nice to see her writing from her own experiences, versus one of her novels! I really found it interesting how she just kept going. Through her own illness contracted from the hospital, as well as the horrible sights- she felt compelled to keep going and move on. In the beginning of her journal...she wrote how she "...was a boy going off to war." She was doing all that she could for the fight. And that included traveling 500 miles away from home- leaving family and friends behind. - Talya. | ||
Having long been an admirer of Louisa May Alcott's writings I was thrilled and fascinated to read her journal about her time as a nurse. Her writing style was such that you can almost see what she was seeing and feel what she felt.
