I think Fleming's piece goes to show that the unpublicized, unrecognized nature of Robinson represents the work of African American women during the civil rights efforts, in general. It's sad, and ironic, that such a strong, spirited lady would be viewed as unattractive and unlady-like because of this her courage and strength.
