I found this article very interesting, as it does shift way from the previous practice of having only one parent involved in the raising of children. It's very much like how my parents raised me. | + | The first part of this reading hit home with me. I can truly understand the way parents felt after the bomb fell on Hiroshima. Church says that a new "concept of civilized living was created". Parents were in fear. I felt this way about the events that occurred on 9/11. These events changed the way I felt (and the rest of America) about air travel. This past summer was the first time I let my children fly unaccompanied and I was scared for them. I could not help but think about 9/11.
