This reading brought up a couple questions for me. First, why wasn't Arthur more severly punished for his crimes? Especially after he had a history of drunkeness, stealing, and running away? Second, why would other people continue to buy him with his previous record? I guess the answer probably has to do with slaves being considered valuable property. This is unrelated to the "Confessions..." passage but I had a quick comment about "Boston Massacre Oration."  I found numerous similarities between the description of the Boston Massacre by Warren, and the events of September 11th.  Both were horrifying events where people were attacked in their homeland.  The patriotism that arose from each event shows the extent to which Americans are dedicated to our nation. -Ally Campo
