The difference between the white activism and the black activism discussed in Unequal Sisters was not very surprising to me.  I figured that since black women were also fighting for civil rights their fight would be stronger.  They seemed to have the largest networks of people working toward the cause.  They held fundraising fuctions to help raise the money needed to fund their programs. It is easy to understand how these women bonded in the way that they did.  The bond that these women grew amongst themselves was largely due to the having to rely on eachother so much. -- Kellye Sorber
