| + | I think that a lot of the tensions between Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, and Andre Braugher's characters regarding race are particularly pertinent to modern discussions from the past 20 years or so. Washington often belittles Braugher for talking or acting "white," while Braugher just considers himself educated. Of course, Morgan Freeman was being Morgan Freeman and sort of mediating things, but the conversations in the film were just like ones being had around 1990 in the media, and that are still happening now. If this movie were made in the 1950s, none of that discussion would have been included. - Cilla | ||
