| + | I agree with Victoria. I was never unimpressed by Cinque's character - his story about what really happened with the lion only made me respect him more for admitting the truth. Obviously we feel sorry for Cinque and all of the captives, but it's the way Cinque carries himself that makes the audience respect him. From the moment Adams is introduced, he already seems like a hero, albeit a more unwilling one, but it's clear that he's to be respected. Baldwin is built up but he doesn't have a huge moment that changes the way the audience sees him. He starts the film as a noble lawyer and ends it as a noble lawyer. Baldwin may be a hero in this, but Cinque is THE hero. - Celia | ||
