It was almost impossible to keep a straight face while reading this particular article and I had to read a passage to my roomate and he was also laughing hysterically.  This is the first intense anti-suffrage argument that I have come accross with this much candor and I found it incredibly interesting.  Marie Jenny Howe essentially gives her gender no credit and claims they hardly posses any intellectual capacity and are even incapable of doing something as simple as placing a ballot in a box.  She wants to continue with the established order and keep women down in the domestic sphere because "some one must wash the dishes."  She continues to take a very conservative approach to women's roles and even mentions the Bible as reason to keep women suppressed.  Myself, and others I am sure do not agree with Howe's view of women as an imcompetent gender and beleive women should have never been suppressed like they were. -afrisk
