| + | I thought chapter 10 brought up a good question, which was how the transition from slavery to freedom was expected to function. If I remember correctly the majority of white Americans still viewed African Americans and inferior and It was only a small percentage of Northern Radicals that actually wanted equality for them. As history shows it would still take a long time for freedom to mean anything to them. So my question is after the Civil War ended what kind of life could African Americans hold without having any rights? ---David Fitch | ||
