| + | Ok to be fair to the story the circus is a scary place! You never know what kind of shady business is going on there! It did seem kind of odd though that they would throw in the circus aspect of the story. I guess the author had a bad experience with the circus? This piece was slightly amusing/pathetic it reminded me of the story of Charlotte (was that her name?) the other very very silly girl who ran off with someone and was abandoned and then died when her father came and forgave her. Why are these girls so silly? I hope we have evolved!-Emma Peck | ||
For the topic, I found this piece almost humorous. The writer seems to be putting forth a conspiracy theory that the man intentionally lured his very innocent victim into the state of needing to become a prostitute to pay for her bills. This article portrays a young country girl, innocent in the ways of the world, as a victim to the evils of both male immorality (sex) and the city. Exaggerated and a little over the top, I am sure it received plenty of attention, but also very pointedly displaying the evils of sex and prostitution.-- Elyse Lawrence | For the topic, I found this piece almost humorous.
