Even her favorite slave would not listen. What is interesting is that she takes this as an attack on herself, she states “I am unable to accommodate myself to the disagreeable change.” I’m not exactly sure what she was expected to do. – Erin Sanderson | ||

In this context of time, this was before Nat Turner’s rebellion in 1831, but way after other attempted slave rebellions.
