I have to admit I can almost understand why the Puritans banished Anne Hutchinson, she completely undermined everything that there society stood for. Not to mention that judging by the trial transcripts she was far more intelligent then most of the members of the court. Not only were her religious ideas extreme, she was the antithesis of the typical Puritan female. She was a leader amongst her followers, and had she remained in the Massachusetts Bay Colony her influence might have affected the entire balance of things in the colonies especially that between men and women.---Emma Peck
