This always amazes me. Every time I read it I'm still amazed and mad. Doctors sterilized people without their knowledge or permission! It disgusts me! And I know they thought they were doing the right thing, but its still retarded! --Ashley Wilkins | This always amazes me. Every time I read it I'm still amazed and mad. | − | + | The idea of involuntary sterilization upsets me. I guess I can sort of understand how people would not want the mentally disabled to have children, especially those that were poor. It seems that people didn't want to have to pay for the poor and if there were even more poor, especially children whose parents couldn't even take care of themselves let alone a child. Mentally disabled poor caused problems for society and I can see how a portion could want to prevent these people from having children. At the same time a doctor sterilizing someone without their permission is really wrong. -- Kellye S | |

Readings such as these usually make me mad. Mostly because all I think of is that men were selfish pigs who understood nothing. If a woman doesn't want to have children with you that says something about the current relationship! Make it better before you try to bring children into the scene. --Ashley Wilkins | Readings such as these usually make me mad.
