| + | One part of this article that stuck out to me was interracial marriage between Chicano women and Anglo-Saxon men. This seemed like it was really only a viable option for lighter skinned Mexicans because then their husbands could pass them off as white. Even so, it was a type of independence for these women. I liked the story about the woman who cut her hair because she wanted to show her husband that he could not control her like her father did while she was in Mexico. -- Kari W. | ||
