I really enjoyed reading the different court cases but they brought up a lot of questions. For instance, were men punished for being drunk also? Also, what does "imprisoned for unclean carriages with.." If women knew what would happen if they confessed to fornication why did they do, was it because they thought the confession would save them? If being an elect was predetermined then what would confessing do for you? Brewster Whip'ts case was very different and I'm not quite sure I actually understand what she did (seem to offend religion) but whatever she did her punishment seemed the harshest. -- Emily Miller
  
 
I was just amazed, in general, that women were allowed to leave wills and have some say in what happened with property after someone's death.  I didn't realize that women were allowed to have this much power in the relationship, was this a new ideology?
