The relationship between Thomas Jefferson and James Callender is what interested me the most. I guess this was just my naive "The Founding Fathers are Gods" education but I didn't realize how manipulative Thomas Jefferson was. I found it kind of funny, actually (and I know this probably makes me a horrible person) that as soon as Jefferson won the presidential election he tossed Callender to the side. Poor guy worked so hard to bash the other party for Jefferson and their relationship ends instantly. | + | Kelly, I totally agree with you. I felt much of the same way. It seems to me that a lot of people do what Jefferson did, that is cast someone aside that is no longer of value to them. Callender was really there just to meet Jefferson's needs. -- Kellye S | ||
