I'm a big fan of Abraham Lincoln. He's just so cool! And I enjoyed this speech as well. He is so smart to talk to the North about the South without anger. Instead he addresses the situation with sympathy and understanding. He recognizes that even if the South wanted to stop slaver it would still be hard. He says at one point in the speech though, that he does not believe total equality between black and white. I found this interesting. I wonder if this is just a way of saying how hard it would be to get to equality. --Jessica Lawrie
