| + | Again, I will make the comment that this article too has parallels to today. Despite the improvements in birth control and options for unwed, pregnant women, many women still find themselves in the same difficult decisions: to raise a baby alone, give it up, or get married, even if it is into a relationship without love. Fortunately, the social stigma is not as strong against unwed mothers and many women have proved that they can raise a child on their own. But Joanna's plight of being stuck into a relationship she did not desire, due to pregnancy, is one that many women today still experience, which perhaps explains the increasing divorce rate. ~Juliann Boyles | ||
