The article in MP, "Nonconformist Joyce Johnson..." was very interesting. I really liked he reasoning for sleeping around or before marriage. Since you have stayed so late it didn't matter, as long as you didn't go home. So instead of going home, you find some guy to go home with. First of all, with rules like that you are asking to get pregnant. This account however, was so shady, the means of getting an abortion is insane. She had to be taken by a sketchy guy, to this horribly mean Dr. who frowns on abortions but will perform them illegally. Did all Doctors frown upon their patients when they give abortions? | − | + | That advertising executive is the creepiest person I have ever read about, seen in a movie, or met in person. Are there records of these type of abortion liasons - people who knew doctors, and who young girls knew to call to set up a meeting? I imagine this guy could make alot of money either getting paid directly by the girls or taking a kickback from the doctor, or maybe he just liked it in some weird disgusting way. I would have opted for the trip to puerto rico if i was an unmarried pregnant woman in the 1950s. -- Landon Davis | |
