| + | I also felt that it seemed that A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett seemed to have a lot of "fluff in it". I find it very hard for him to kill that amount of bears in one year. For David Crocketts purpose however i cant blame him for trying to come off the way that he came off in his narrative.- Bryan Quintana | ||
I feel like it's obvious that David Crockett killed that many bears in an attempt to prove his masculinity and also simply for sport. I think he simply enjoyed hunting, as many people do today. Tennessee is a pretty southern area where today we see lots of hunting as a sport. It was quoted a few times where he says someone asked him to go hunting again and he just couldnt refuse.
