I thought it was somewhat odd that it was wrong for a man to beat his wife. don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he should. lol But, i mean only that if the woman is a possession of the man, just as the kids are... it seems he would have been allowed to hit her as well. And i thought it was really weird that the court had 3 people check that girl to see if she was with child. Why wouldn't they just wait to see if a baby came out? lol --Jessica Lawrie

On the one hand it seemed great that they upheld good morals; however, this took it so far.  It seems as if instead of most of the morals being laws, they ought to be things that are socially acceptable.  If someone is really immoral, the people ought to try to work with him/her on it, rather than punishing them by law. They're not going to change because of a stupid fine.
